WORK EXPERIENCE
From 2002 to date:
Full-time freelance translator. Cooperation with various Italian and international agencies. Translation of manuals, installation instructions, catalogues, advertising brochures, Web pages etc. for large international companies. Details on works/projects and on final customers available on request.
From 1997 to 2001:
- Long-term co-operation with an Italian company manufacturing machinery for the rubber industry (Proteo International). My job included: translation and interpreting in close contact with all company departments, from sales to production; handling contacts with foreign customers (Cooper Standard, Michelin, Pirelli (foreign branches), etc. I had the opportunity to personally see how extruders, roll mills, mixers, presses, etc. were built, under the mechanical, electrical and electronic point of view. I was directly involved with after-sale service (i.e. troubleshooting procedures) as well as marketing.
- Freelance translator for Italian and overseas agencies.
From 1992 to 1996:
In-house translator for an Italian translation agency (Language Service). Translation of manuals and technical texts. Supervision, co-ordination and organisation of translation projects (in-house and out-sourced). Among the clients I followed personally: Enichem, Gruppo Ferruzzi, Ravenna Hospital (Ophthalmology Department), Della Pasqua Shipyard.
From 1989 to 1992:
In-house translator for an Italian translation agency. Translation of manuals and technical texts. Specialization in maritime business (chartering, survey reports, contracts) and shipbuilding. Interpreting. Among the clients I followed personally were various shipagents, forwarding agents, surveyors as well as large shipping companies.
