1. Purpose of this Trial:
The present test drug, Recombinant Human Erythropoietin, is manufactured by Shandong Kexing Bioproducts Company Limited, China under the trade name - EPOSINO, supplied by Hindustan Bio Sciences Limited, Hyderabad, India and being evaluated for use in the treatment of anemia in patients with chronic kidney disease. It has been tested extensively and studied in animals as well as in humans to show its effects. Clinical trials, conducted in volunteers, have demonstrated that this drug is generally safe. Mild adverse reactions (side effects) were observed in some subjects. This trial of medicine will last for twelve weeks and the purpose is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of Recombinant Human Erythropoietin (EPOSINO) in patients with chronic kidney disease with anemia. Previous efficacy trials have demonstrated that this drug has been effective as was well tolerated.

This research is to understand the changes that are taking place in cotton farming and cotton field labor in Andhra Pradesh and how they affect people’s life’s work and bodies. I am studying how the effects are different for men and women and what the impacts on future generations will be.
PROCEDURES
If you choose to take part in this study, I will be interviewing you on your work and those of your household members in cotton production.
The interview will take about 2 hours to complete.
The interview will ask about your household assets, education and work. It will also ask about your household’s cotton production and field work practices. We would also like to know your beliefs about how men and women’s life’s work and bodies are effected by this.
You are free to not answer any question.You can stop at any time.
You may take part in the study without being photographed or audiotaped.
