Project Manager from August 2003 until present

In August 2003 I started my career as Linguist Project Manager coordinating the work of different translation/localisation teams following the most strict industry standards regarding quality assurance, monitoring and complying in all stages of a project.

For doing so I am highly computer-literate and possess an extensive knowledge of the latest techniques, applications and resources in this industry in order to localise all types of materials, including websites, software applications, hard-paper documents, PDF’s, brochures and marketing materials, etc.

During these years I have been updating myself and learning from other colleagues with a longer career in this industry. I have worked as an in-house project manager for two translation agencies during the time I lived in Madrid and since then on a freelance basis running my own business for direct clients and another agencies.

From March 2002 I have been working in translation and localisation of all sorts of documents and contents from English, French and Portuguese such as –
IT, software & web-contents such as websites, software and applications, QA testing and reporting, videogames and all related marketing materials and literature.
Legal documents such as certificates, diplomas, agreements, etc.
Financial-related texts such as annual reports, budgets and estimations, etc.
Scientific and medical texts such as releases, clinic trials, pharmacological texts, etc.
Industrial and specialised texts such as technical manuals & reports, inspections, etc.

All these works are done following standards, specific requirements and instructions and deadlines demanded by the client. All translations are proofread by a partner of mine and guarantee the highest quality.

Freelance interpreter from April 2003 until present

During my university years I have studied and practised the techniques on simultaneous, consecutive and liaison interpreting with professional interpreters and having a real work experience interpreting in cabins during seminars and congresses held in the University of Vigo.

After that I started to work on a freelance basis as a simultaneous, consecutive and liaison interpreter for institutions, private-sector businesses and individuals who needed a ladder to jump over a language barrier. For these services I travel there where the event will take place and go with client where I am needed.
