1.02.01. Obligación Primordial del periodista del TIEMPO es cumplir con las normas del presente manual. Dentro del término periodista están comprendidos los editores, los redactores o reporteros, los fotógrafos, los corresponsales, los colaboradores y demás profesionales que intervienen en la producción editorial del periódico.
1.02.02. El periodista está comprometido a excluir de sus textos y fotografías todo aquello que pueda considerarse no conforme con estos principios , y no debe incorporar sus opiniones personales sobre los hechos de los cuales esta informando. Siguiendo estos principios, los columnistas podrán expresar libremente su opinión sobre distintos temas.

EL TIEMPO
1.02.01. It is of prime obligation for the EL TIEMPO journalist to follow the norms of this handbook. In the meaning of the word journalist, are considered the editors, writers, reporters, photographers, correspondents, collaborators, and any other professional that intervenes in the newspaper’s editorial production.
1.02.02. The journalist is committed to exclude from his texts and photography, all that can be considered not compliant to these principals, and shall not include his personal opinions about the events he is reporting. Pursuant to these principals, the columnists may express freely his own opinion about any subject.
