My name is Christer Heljestrand and I am a freelance translator providing professional language services into my native language, Swedish. My main source languages are English and Spanish but I can l also do Norwegian and German (for German, only proofreading). I don´t presume to be neither particularly fast nor very cheap but I´m extremely concerned about accuracy and quality and I always meet the deadlines. I translate meaning, not words and I always call a spade a spade. Experienced SDL Trados user.

My standard rates
Translation: 0.09-0.12 € per word (depending on volume, type of text and deadline)
Proofreading: 0.03-0.04 € per word or 30.00 € per hour (apart of the above, also depending on the quality of the translation)
Minimum charge: 1 hour = 30.00 €

- Standard rates are for texts in Word. I may charge other rates for other formats (e.g. scanned documents in PDF).
- I need proper reference material (pictures, illustrations, links, etc.) do be able to deliver a good translation, it´s impossible to translate without context.
- The deadline influences the rate (words/day), so does work over weekends.


University studies:
Bachelor of Art with a major Spanish + 20 credits of Swedish from the University of Umeå and University of Seville.

Other relevant qualifications:
- 1 academic year abroad in Hastings (UK). Language studies.
- Cambridge Proficiency Exam
- 1 academic year abroad in Seville (Spain). Language studies.
- Exam in Business Spanish, Chamber of Commerce, Madrid.
