Gli strumenti finanziari derivati perfezionati dal Gruppo sono volti a fronteggiare l’esposizione al rischio di tasso di interesse, e ad una diversificazione dei parametri di indebitamento che ne permetta una riduzione del costo e della volatilità entro prefissati limiti gestionali.
Le operazioni con prodotti derivati in essere al 31 dicembre 200x sono legate principalmente alla gestione dell’indebitamento, come interest rate swaps (IRS) per ricondurre al profilo di rischio ritenuto più opportuno i prestiti bancari a tasso fisso e a tasso variabile.
Rispettivamente, gli IRS prevedono, a scadenze determinate, lo scambio con le controparti di flussi di interesse, calcolati su un valore nozionale di riferimento, ai tassi fissi o variabili concordati.
Nella tabella precedente è riportato il valore equo relativo agli IRS in corso al 31 dicembre 200x classificati non hedge accounting secondo IAS 39.

L’attualizzazione dei flussi finanziari, al netto degli oneri fiscali e finanziari, è stata ottenuta per mezzo di un tasso riflettente il rendimento di un investimento privo di rischio con il prodotto tra il tasso del rischio incrementale dell’investimento azionario rispetto all’investimento privo di rischio e l’indice di volatilità del titolo azionario specifico del settore d’attività rispetto al rendimento medio del mercato (cosiddetto WACC approach).

The financial derivative instruments entered into by the Group are used to hedge exposure to interest rate risks, and to diversify debt exposure allowing for a reduction of costs and volatility within limits predetermined by management.
Existing operations using derivative products to 31 December are primarily linked to the management of debt, such as interest rate swaps (IRS), in order to bring the fixed rate and variable rate bank loans within the desired risk profile.
Respectively, the IRS entail—at each given maturity—an exchange of interest payments between the counterparties, calculated on a notional reference value, at pre-arranged rates, either fixed or variable.
The previous table shows the fair value of existing IRS to 31 December 200x classified as non hedge accounting according to IAS 39.

The discounting back of cash flows, net of fiscal and financial charges, was obtained by using the rate that results from sum of the return of a risk-free investment and an equity risk premium multiplied by the volatility index of its specific sector relative to that of the market (i.e. the Weighted Average Cost of Capital approach).
Financing flows include a constant growth rate not higher than the average long term growth rate of the industrial sector in which the Group operates.

I am a Canadian woman who lived and worked in Italy for ten years. I was in Florence for five years, where I worked in various service industry jobs. Subsequently I moved to Milan and started a job as an in-house translator and editor for an investment bank, in their equity research department. There I obtained a hands-on crash course in both translating and finance--a sort of baptism by fire. When I regained consciousness, I moved to a kinder, gentler investment bank under renowned economist Alessandro Fugnoli.
Hitherto, I attended the Ryerson School of Journalism in Toronto, Ontario, where I took courses on copywriting, copyediting, advanced English, and learned other translation-friendly skills. In addition, I attended a French Immersion school in Toronto (Ecole Publique Gabrielle Roy) until the age of 13, thereby giving me a solid foundation in the French language as well.
Currently I live in Dublin, Ireland, and am in my final year of a four-year honours B.A. in Italian and History at Trinity College. In this way I am consolidating my profound knowledge of Italian language and culture whilst obtaining more traditionally academic experience in order to augment my skill set.
My hobbies include Italian history, scuba diving (BSAC-qualified Dive Leader, PADI-qualified Rescue Diver), underwater archaeology, watching historical documentaries and history-based movies, and travelling.
I have a reliable Dell computer and a Dell XPS M1330 laptop, and I use Wordfast, which is proving enormously useful. (Big ups and "salut mon ami!" to Yves.) My rates are variable (according to job volume), and I don't mind working on holidays and weekends as I'm a student.
