Joining together an extensive knowledge of the subject, a perfect mastery of the target language (the native language!) and a wide range of terminology sources (dictionaries, personal databases, the World Wide Web).

Terminology aids: I created and own a personal terminology database, which I regularly update with new terms after each translation. I also own many technical bilingual and monolingual dictionaries, specific for each field. When I cannot find a technical term, I do Internet searches, looking for "parallel texts" and finding the equivalent.
