My name is Leonid Kokaurov. I was born in Irkutsk near Lake Baikal. I studied history, social science, economics and English and received a master's degree in Magadan, Russian Far East. I furthered my studies at the Russian Far Eastern University in Vladivostok. My area of focus for the graduate studies was economic reforms during the Kruschev era and English. I moved to Alaska and established my own company with focus on translation, interpreting and consulting services. My projects are quite varied. I function as a business liaison between US companies and RFE business and government. I have facilitated transactions in the mining, fisheries, construction, and oil and gas industries, as well as working on US-based education and training projects. From 2001 to 2003, I worked as a program manager at UAA ARC for a US Department of Labor grant that providing training to Russian engineers in project management and logistics. Lead Technical Translator of Arctic GeoScience International, LLC. responsible for translation of permit application document for submittal to the Russian Maritime Registry (RMRS) and Republic of Kazakhstan (RoK). Communication and assistance with Kazakhstan and Russian authorities to implement and promote procedures and goals and to insure that both sides clearly understand applicable drilling program requirements. Consultation with technical experts and published references in order to ensure accurate technical translation of subjects addressing civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, drilling technology, fire detection and suppression, marine safety, personal safety, environmental protection as well as technical system operation. Lead Technical Translator responsible for translation of supplemental engineering analysis necessary to support the permit application in Kazakhstan.
