The Series 40 valves can be automated inexpensively with XXX pneumatic and electric actuators.
When compared to gate, globe, ball, diaphragm and plug valves, the XXX butterfly valve is significantly smaller and lighter weight, therefore installation space, time, and maintenance costs are greatly reduced.

BODY (A) One piece wafer body style or lug style for dead-end service. Both body styles offer bidirectional sealing as standard to full ANSI Class 150, 300 or 600 ratings. Standard body materials are either carbon steel or stainless steel for excellent corrosion resistance. Extended neck allows for 2" of pipeline insulation and easy access to stem packing adjustments and actuator mounting.
STEM (B) The high-strength, one piece stem is 17-4 PH Stainless Steel. The valve stem is standardized for interchangeability of XXX actuators.
DISC (C) The disc has been engineered to maximize flow and minimize resistance, providing a high Cv. 316 Stainless Steel is standard.
TAPER PINS (D) Taper pins are precision fit into taper–reamed holes providing a positive connection of maximum strength between the valve disc and stem.
INTERNAL TRAVEL STOP (E) An internal travel stop has been designed to prevent over travel of the disc, minimizing possible seat damage, therefore extending the service life of the seat.
HANDLE AND NOTCH PLATE (F) The heavy–duty, spring release handle and 10 position notch plate allow for positioning the valve disc to precise angle stops between the full open and full closed positions.
BLOW-OUT PROOF STEM (G) The Series 40 High Performance valve features blow-out proof stem protection. A retaining ring is installed between the machined stem groove and gland retainer step providing full retention of the stem in the unlikely event of internal stem failure. Les robinets de la série 40 peuvent être équipés d’une commande automatique, à peu de frais, grâce aux actionneurs pneumatiques et électriques de XXX.

Le chapeau allongé permet d’installer une isolation de 2 po d’épaisseur sur la tuyauterie et facilite l’accès à la garniture pour les réglages, ainsi que le montage de l’actionneur.
ARBRE (B) L’arbre monobloc à haute résistance est en acier inoxydable 17-4 PH. Les extrémités de cet arbre sont normalisées pour une interchangeabilité des actionneurs XXX.
DISQUE (C) Le disque a été conçu pour un débit maximal et une résistance minimale à l’écoulement, procurant ainsi un coefficient Cv très élevé. L’acier inoxydable 316 standard est normalement offert pour ce disque.
GOUPILLES CONIQUES (D) Les goupilles coniques sont ajustées avec précision dans des trous alésés coniques, procurant ainsi une liaison positive et résistante, entre le disque et l’arbre.
BUTÉE DE FIN DE COURSE INTERNE (E) Une butée de fin de course interne a été conçue pour empêcher le disque de se déplacer en dehors des limites normales de sa course, évitant ainsi toute possibilité d’endommagement du siège.
POIGNÉE ET PLAQUE D’INDEXAGE (F) La poignée à ressort et la plaque d’indexage à encoches à 10 positions, pour service intensif, permet d’amener le disque des robinets dans des positions correspondant à des angles bien précis, allant de l’ouverture complète à la fermeture complète.
AXE INÉJECTABLE (G) Les robinets hautes performances de la série 40 possèdent un arbre protégé contre l’éjection. Un anneau de retenue est installé entre la rainure d’arbre usinée et l’épaulement de bride de fouloir, assurant un blocage total dans le cas improbable d’une rupture interne de l’arbre.
