When the book "Muslims in the Enlarged Europe" received an award from the American Library Association as an "Outstanding Academic Title" for 2005, it was proven again: Dr. Jeffrey Lewis is an authoritative and polished translator of French scholarly work.
The book was a survey of work in sociology, anthropology, Arabic studies, urban studies - and many other disciplines. But Dr. Lewis' range is still greater. An American with a Ph.D. magna cum laude in philosophy from one of Europe's best universities, with graduate coursework and college teaching experience in a dozen separate subjects, he has edited or translated over 50 monographs and theses for publication by francophone scholars, in addition to a range of production in artistic translation, the sciences, and EU-related work.
