My name is Cristina Di Bartolo and I'm an Italian translator-interpreter based in Barcelona, Spain, with more than 7 years of experience.

In 2003 I got a degree in Translation & Interpreting (French, Spanish, English > Italian) at the prestigious SSLMIT (Scuola Superiore di Lingue Moderne per Interpreti e Traduttori), University of Trieste (Italy). During my university years I spent 2 semesters at EII (Ecole d'Interprètes Internationaux), Université di Mons-Hainaut (Belgium). In 2004-2005, I attended a Master in Translation & Informatics at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona (Spain).

From 2005 to the end of 2006 I worked as in-house translator and PM, first at Reinisch España (a company specialized in technical documentation) and then at Transperfect Translations, both based in Barcelona.

Since 2007 I'm working exclusively as freelance language services provider (translation, proofreading, editing, freelance project management). Among my clients there are big translation companies, direct clients from the Spanish and the Catalan private sector, UE institutions and other public Catalan clients.

In 2005 I won a UE competition for Italian translators, and I'm currently considering job offers from the main European institutions, as long as I translate European contents as external translator.

My source languages: French, English, Spanish and Catalan. My target languages: Italian and (only for very specific projects) Spanish.

My specialties: mostly web content translation, technical texts, medical texts, marketing, audiovisual translation (subtitles and scripts), academic articles, UE texts.

As I work with a net of collaborators, I'm able to offer "tandem" services (trans+proof).
