Regarding EU’s external relations the Constitution introduces some major innovations. One is the creation of a Foreign Affairs Minister post. The incumbent will conduct and implement the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) on behalf of the European Council and be one of the Vice-Presidents of the European Commission. He or she will be responsible for handling external relations and for coordinating other aspects of the Union's external action.
