حذر الرئيس الأمريكي باراك أوباما في خطابه حول حالة الاتحاد أمام الكونغرس الخميس 28-1-2010 إيران ستواجه عواقب وخيمة بسبب ملفها النووي، وأن المجتمع الدولي موحد، وطهران أصبحت أكثر عزلة.
وقال أوباما في أول خطاب له عن حالة الاتحاد إن الحرب في العراق "شارفت على النهاية" وأن "القوات ستعود الى البلاد"، موضحا أنه "في الوقت الذي نتعهد فيه القتال ضد القاعدة فإننا نترك العراق لشعبه بطريقة مسؤولة"وأشار أوباما لتعهداته السابقة قائلا "عندما كنت مرشحا، وعدت بأنني سأضع حدا لهذه الحرب وهذا ما أفعله كرئيس".
وأضاف مؤكدا المهلة التي كانت حددتها إدارته.

During his State of the Union on Thursday 1/28/ 2010, the American President Barack Obama warned Iran would face serious repercussions for its nuclear program and stated that the international community is united, and that Teheran is more isolated.
Obama declared in his first State of the Union that the war in Iraq is "almost over" and that "the forces will be coming back home." Adding "In leading the fight against Al-Qaeda, we will be leaving Iraq to its people in a responsible way." He referred to his previous promises by saying:" when I was running for election, I promised to end this war and that is exactly what I'm doing as a President."
