Mit dieser Aufgabe, lieber Professor Green, schickten sie mich auf eine spannende Reise. Antworten habe ich auch gefunden – aber am besten alles der Reihe nach.

Ein modernes, international erfolgreiches Unternehmen:
Wie geht das zusammen?
Es sollte nicht das letzte Mal sein, dass Bürkert mich verblüfft.
Der erste Tag in Ingelfingen:
Ein Unternehmen, das sich auf die Steuerung von Flüssigkeiten und Gasen spezialisiert hat:
„Fluid Control Systems”
Na, mal sehen....

Ist wusste nicht, dass offene Herzlichkeit eine deutsche Eigenschaft ist.
Carlos, ein Ingenieur aus Chile, zeigt mir das Unternehmen.
Immer dann, wenn Flüssigkeiten oder Gase strömen und absolut präzise gemessen, gesteuert oder geregelt werden müssen, kommen Produkte von Bürkert zum Einsatz.
Physik in ihrer schönsten Form:
Dafür sorgen 150 Entwickler aus der ganzen Welt – hier in Ingelfingen und anderen Forschungsabteilungen.
Je außergewöhnlicher der Fall ist, desto wichtiger wird die perfekte Zusammenarbeit im Team. Teamwork als kreative Kraft – so kann Arbeit Spaß machen.
Alles fließt, sagt Heraklit. Noch nie war mir dieser Gedanke so nah wie jetzt. Lebensmittel, Medikamente, Kosmetika; ja selbst beim Befüllen von Neonröhren - überall: Bürkert inside.
1700 Mitarbeiter, 7 Werke, Niederlassungen auf allen Kontinenten – und dazu noch mehrere Entwicklungszentren:
Mitarbeiter aus der ganzen Welt kommen zu Schulungen nach Ingelfingen.
Ich spüre eine besondere Kultur von Neugier, Respekt und Miteinander.
Um auf neuen Wegen zu wirklich neuen Lösungen zu kommen, schickt Bürkert seine Mitarbeiter auf Entdeckungsreise:
Technologische Pfadfinder!
Was braucht man dafür?
Mut! ... Den Mut der Mitarbeiter, immer wieder neu zu denken.
Und natürlich den Mut, als Unternehmen in diese Fähigkeiten zu vertrauen.
Zweiter Tag:
Ich habe mich überreden lassen – und fliege!
Wer denkt und handelt wie Bürkert hat Mitarbeiter, die hoch hinaus wollen und vor Verantwortung nicht zurückschrecken.
Einige Teams nehmen das sogar wörtlich. Regelmäßig treffen sie sich zu Rundflügen der besonderen Art.
„Die Gedanken fliegen lassen“ nennen sie das.
Mess-, Steuer- und Regeleinheiten für beinahe jede Anwendung stellt Bürkert her.
Und zwar alles aus einer Hand: Der ganze Regelkreis. Vom kleinsten Ventil und Sensor bis zu großen Systemlösungen.
Wer Mut hat ist klar im Vorteil. Denn Mut macht ein Unternehmen von innen heraus stark.
Lieber Professor Green, der erste Teil meiner Reise geht hier zu Ende. Teil zwei führt mich nach Asien.

Shanghai, 2 Wochen früher
Shanghai, Wirtschaftswunderstadt. Übersetzt heißt Shanghai „über dem Meer“ – ein passender Standort für ein Unternehmen, das die Physik von Flüssigkeiten und Gasen so genau kennt.
Um international mitzuspielen, muss man hier investieren. Natürlich auch in die Menschen.
Das hat Bürkert gemacht; mit viel Respekt vor den kulturellen Unterschieden im Denken und Handeln.
Nur so hat man eine Chance auf den neuen Märkten.
Das berühmte Teehaus am Yu-Garten. Ein Garten mit über tausend-jähriger Geschichte.
Wong erzählt mir viel über die Kultur Chinas, die auf uraltem Wissen und Erfahrung gegründet ist.
Moment mal: Erfahrung!
Das ist es doch! Erfahrung ist das Fundament bei Bürkert.
Erfahrung und das Wissen aus sechzig Jahren Firmengeschichte.
Lieber Professor Green, ich habe den Mut bei Bürkert gespürt und Erfahrung als Wert schätzen gelernt.

I didn’t know that being so open-hearted was a German trait.
Carlos, and engineer from Chile shows me around the company.
Whenever fluids or gasses are flowing and need to be measured, controlled or regulated definitely and precisely, Bürkert products are employed.
Physics at its most beautiful:
150 developers from all over the world make this happen – here in Ingelfingen and other research facilities.
The more unusual the case is, the more important it is to cooperate perfectly as a team. Teamwork as creative energy – this is how work can be fun.
Everything flows, says Heraclitus. This notion has never been so close to me as it is now. Foodstuffs, medicine, cosmetics – even in the fillings of neon lamps – everywhere: Bükert inside.
1700 associates, 7 factories, branches on every continent – and still more development centres: collaborators from all over the world come to Ingelfingen for training.
I feel a special culture made of curiosity, respect and cooperation.
In order to find new paths toward truly new solutions, Bükert sends its associates on expeditions: technological scouts!
What do you need for that?
Courage! ... the courage of a collaborator to always finds new ways of thinking. And of course the courage of a company to trust its own capabilities.
Second day:
I let myself be persuaded – and I’m flying!
Whoever thinks and acts like Bükert has collaborators who really want to go above and beyond, and don’t shrink in the face of responsibility.
Some teams take that literally. Generally they meet for a special kind of sightseeing flight.
“Letting the ideas fly” is what they call it.
Bükert produces measurement, control and regulation devices for almost every usage.
And it all comes from the same source: The whole circuit. From the smallest valve and sensors to the largest system solutions.
A person with courage has a definite advantage. Courage makes a company strong from the inside out.
My dear Professor Green, the first part of my trip comes to an end here. Part two takes me to Asia.
We’ll see which values of a German company exist in my homeland.

Shanghai, an economic marvel
The translation of Shanghai is “on the sea” – a fitting location for a company that knows the physics of fluids and gases so well.
In order to be on the international playing field, one has to invest here. In the people as well, of course.
Bükert has done just that – paying respect to the cultural differences in thinking and action.
That is the only way to have a chance in the new markets.
