Up to recent years decentralized banking relationship was, for some corporate entities, the way to go. With that approach the corporate client was in a position to compare and weigh the differences and manage their collection and payment processes through their financial services providers individually since most functionalities were running parallel to each other and could be controlled separately without too many cost/benefit issues. Players in the market were delivering basic cash management products without maximizing the electronic access and/or delivery channels. Hence corporate clients were limited in the ways to centralize information reporting and/or update receivable and disbursement ledgers and accomplish all this in a secure environment at the head office level.
The process needs to be flexible, responsive and inclusive, responding to the dynamics of the situation such as weather changes and priority changes, and taking into account the fact that the location of every aircraft in the entire system of flights is not exactly predictable over any meaningful period of time. All users need a way of at least stating their desired outcome. A mechanism for « negotiating » that outcome is also required including a reality check by the local control units responsible for achieving the desired outcome.
