I translate Japanese documents in a variety of fields, but most often those pertaining to computer software, hardware, linguistics, energy, economic development, and corporate literature. I am also comfortable translating patents and legal contracts, and translate IT patents on a regular basis.

My years of experience as a technical rewriter and as a translation course curriculum designer have honed my ability to deliver text that sounds natural, clear, and easy to read. And working in Japan have also taught me to be timely, courteous, and professional.

I am the founder of EideticVisions LLC, a company working to provide a variety of linguistic software tools for students and users of East Asian languages. The company has two patent-pending inventions under development. My experience with patent application drafting and software programming gives me an edge in translating these fields.

I have a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Stanford University and two M.A.s relating to linguistics—one for Japanese (U. Wisconsin-Madison) and the other for Chinese (U. Hawaii at Manoa: PhD pending). I have recently joined ProZ and look forward to working with new clients and this community in the future.
