English for me is almost like mother tongue. As a functionary in Government and as elected executive of a large trade union federation, I extensively use English for delivering speeches, publishing articles, presenting papers in seminars, and for documentation.

My knowledge of Spanish language is rudimentary, having learnt the language through books. Occasionally, I read texts in Spanish books I possess and in Internet. Similarly at times, I listen to radiobroadcast in Spanish language in the Internet.

Being very proficient in English, I am able to narrow in to come up with appropriately exact word in English language for any text in Spanish. In this way I would be able to give perfection to a translation job. This makes me natural collaborative assistant to a translator who is very proficient in Spanish and yet he / she may desire assistance to give final and finishing touch to the draft translation in target language (English)


I am used to doing Malayalam to English translation because Malayalam is the local language, where I live while English is lingua franca of India.

Several well known books by famous Spanish authors are available in English translation. At times, it seems that to some extent, the soul of the original is missing in some of the English translations.

Editing translated text in English with a view to making it as closer to the original as possible probably is an area where there could be unmet demand.
