The lateral traversing unwind includes auto edge guiding +/- 2” correction. Constant unwind web tension, 2 – 5 PLI, is controlled by an electronic brake and non-contact diameter sensor. By monitoring roll diameter a signal proportional to the diameter is generated. The brake controller compares the actual roll diameter to the set point and adjusts the brake accordingly to provide constant tension as required.
