PRESENTATION:

For eight years, I have been working as a freelance translator of German, English and Spanish. German is my mother tongue. On request, I also translate into my foreign languages because thanks to my studies and work experience I am able to write clear and accurate English and Spanish.

I am a one-woman business, but I am well networked within the translation community at national and international levels. In case of larger projects, I can put together a team of competent translators and take on the coordination.

Since October 2005, I have lived and worked in Vienna. I gained international working experience through an internship in a translation agency in Barcelona (www.tcsbruiser.com).

I am constantly familiarising myself with new and very diverse fields of knowledge. At the moment, my main clients are Greenpeace and and other environmental and human right's NGOs.

My main strengths are my ability to perform accurate work with attention to detail and my enthusiasm to learn.

These attributes, combined with my quality consciousness, make me a reliable translator.


ACADEMIC STUDIES:

I studied translation and interpretation at the University of Graz, where I graduated in 2003. My studies included Spanish as a first foreign language, English as a second foreign language, and the features of both languages compared to German.

I also spent one year as an Erasmus student at the University of Salamanca, Spain.

My diploma thesis, a feminist translation critique, was awarded with a prize by the Dr. Maria Schaumayer Foundation.
