CREATIVE WRITING:
I am seeking to polish my creative writing skills by following a home-study course. This covers journalism, travel writing, short stories & novels, reviews, drama and writing for children. This, and the substantial amount of foreign literature I have studied, has enabled me to deepen my understanding of how language works, to be sensitive to its nuances and the culture of origin, and thus render it appropriately as a translation. To date, I have published a number of articles ranging from humorous travel pieces, advice columns, book & film reviews and short stories, and I hope to pursue this line of work in the future.
OTHER PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
2003-2006: Various administrative roles, including full-time role as a PA at the Chartered Institute of Linguists. This allowed a valuable insight into the world of translation. Throughout this time I also taught Spanish to children on a part-time basis.
