Source text - English My pictures grow through my hands like vines on a trellis. I usually draw in non-erasable media without preliminary sketches or any possibility for correcting mistakes, thus challenging myself to create a perfect image in the purity of the moment, like Minerva springing fully grown and fully armed from Jupiter's forehead. Whenever possible, I present my pictures in antique frames that I preserve and restore myself. Just as the body is the vessel of the soul, I view the frame as an extension of the picture it contains and thus a vital element of the total work of art. Source text - English E. Heavy Equipment Rules a. Every employee, not just the equipment operator, must be fully aware of all safety aspects of heavy construction equipment. b. Be constantly alert when working around heavy equipment. The operator cannot always see other personnel around his or her equipment. Stay out from under suspended loads and away from moving equipment and counterweights. c. Only designated individuals shall be permitted to operate or service heavy equipment. d. Perform frequent and periodic inspections as required. e. The equipment operator must wear the seat belt when required. f. No employee is permitted to ride on any part of the equipment. g. It is the responsibility of all employees to make certain that backup alarms on obstructed rear view heavy equipment be in operable condition. Use a flagger to move equipment when backup alarms are inoperable. h. Maintain a 10-foot minimum clearance from energized lines; use a spotter in difficult areas. F. Fall Protection a. All manholes which present a fall hazard should be covered and identified as a hole. b. Guardrails around open shafts deeper than 6 feet should be 42 inches high plus or minus 3 inches. c. The intermediate rail should be positioned halfway between the floor and top rail. d. The threshold for fall protection use is 6 feet. I take extra care in making sure that my translations are intelligible, natural, and correct to the target audience. Most Spanish translations of English text read like clumsy, literal interpretations of their source text; I make sure my translations are consistent with usage by native Spanish speakers.
