Global Words aps - professional translation into Danish
On 1 October 2006 I set up my own translation company after spending 3½ years establishing a Swedish translation company's Danish office; before that I worked for Berlitz Translation Services/Berlitz GlobalNET/Bowne Global Solutions and the European Union.
As of 1 January 2008 Global Words employs 4 state-authorised translators: 2 in Spanish and 2 in French. All of us translate primarily from English into Danish, but we do of course also take care of translation from French and Spanish into Danish and from Danish into French and Spanish.
We work primarily for direct clients, but do occasionally accept interesting, well-paid projects from other translation companies.
We have all attended a 4 day course in anatomy & physiology and subsequently passed the exam; two of us have passed an exam in pathology at nurse level (as part of the medical device consultant education).
In a 2007 EU tender, we were the only Danish-owned company to be approved by the translation center for the bodies of the European Union for translation of documents within the pharmaceutical and clinical affairs fields from English into Danish.
We specialize in medical translation from English into Danish:
- clinical affairs (protocols, ICFs/patient informations, questionnaires etc.)
- regulatory affairs (EMEA, centralized and referral procedure translations)
- medical device user manuals
- sales and marketing for drugs, medical devices and the like
- patents within chemistry and biotech
- medical records
We also handle translations within the:
- technical areas
- legal areas
- economic affairs (I have a graduate diploma in international trade)
- sales & marketing fields (I have been responsible for sales since 1999).
In March 2008 we did a 75,000 words project within anatomy and physiology (audio guides, teacher's guide, didactics, labels, catalogue and website).
Apart from specializing in medical translation from English into Danish we also handle translation projects into a series of other languages. We have handled major medical projects involving up to 27 languages at the time, incl. all Western and Eastern European as well as a few Asian languages. We have project managed and translated 12 languages in an EMEA referral procedure (SPC, labelling and PIL + Annex I) for a medicinal product in 4 formulations. In another EMEA project we updated the SPC, labelling and PIL with five new packaging sizes - in less than 36 hours - in 23 languages!
We also do proof-reading in Danish, and this is something that we really enjoy. We simply love to improve Danish texts by correcting grammatical errors and inconsistencies and brushing up the language in general.
We strive for the outstanding translation quality and provide unrivalled customer service. We strive to quality control 100 % of the translation (carried out by another highly qualified linguist) and we do it on hardcopy. We work according to a set of internal guidelines that we call 'Good Translation Practice'.
All data is backed-up to a remote server every day, and we have our own FTP server.
