Global Words aps - professional translation into Danish

On 1 October 2006 I set up my own translation company after spending 3½ years establishing a Swedish translation company's office in Denmark; before that I worked for Berlitz Translation Services/Berlitz GlobalNET/Bowne Global Solutions and the European Union.
As of 1 October 2011 we are two state-authorized translators in-house and on fulltime.

Global Words works primarily for direct clients, but does occasionally accept interesting, well-paid projects from other translation companies.

Due to our specialization in medical translation, it is standard practice in Global Words that the employees attend a 4 days course in anatomy & physiology as well as a 4 days course in pathology and subsequently pass the exams (as part of the pharmaceutical sales rep education). Furthermore, we have both attended a 6 days course in pharmacology arranged by the Danish association of pharmaceutical companies.

In a 2007 EU tender, we were the only Danish-owned company to be approved by the translation center for the bodies of the European Union for translation of documents within the pharmaceutical and clinical affairs fields from English into Danish. In 2011 we were approved again by the translation center.

We specialize in medical translation from English into Danish:

- clinical affairs (protocols, amendments, ICFs/patient informations, questionnaires. epicrises etc.)
- regulatory affairs (EMA, centralized and referral procedures, variations)
- medical device user manuals
- sales and marketing for drugs, medical devices and the like
- medical records

We also handle translations within:
- IT (we have a.o. translated the ITIL glossary, syllabus and exam papers (Intermediate and Foundation) into Danish - version 6.0, 87000 words during the autumn/winter 2011/2012)
- technical areas
- legal areas
- economic and financial affairs (we have translated several prospectuses from English and French into Danish and are up-to-date reg. the KIID requirements)
- sales & marketing fields

In March 2008 we did a 75,000 words project within anatomy and physiology (audio guides, teacher's guide, didactics, labels, catalogue and website) for the BODIES exhibition.

Apart from specializing in medical translation from English into Danish we also handle translation projects into a series of other languages. We have handled major medical projects involving up to 27 languages at the time, incl. all Western and Eastern European as well as a few Asian languages.

We also do proof-reading in Danish, and this is something that we really enjoy. We simply love to improve Danish texts by correcting grammatical errors and inconsistencies and brushing up the language in general.

We strive for the outstanding translation quality and provide unrivalled customer service. We strive to quality control 100 % of the translation (carried out by another highly qualified linguist) and we do it on hardcopy. We work according to a set of internal guidelines that we call 'Good Translation Practice'.
All data is backed-up to a remote server every day, and we have our own FTP server.
