My translation experience began shortly after arriving in Germany in 1999 with technical articles about programming for two and half years for a quarterly magazine. Since then I've translated conference papers, software documentation, graphical user interfaces, and marketing materials.

I worked in the Pacific Northwest as a freelance computer consultant for 15 years. Then that "road less taken" appeared and a German fashion company was interested in my services. In particular, I helped develop an application generator using XML for meta data storage, and opened the runtime environment to event-driven scripting.

My work experience has included supporting water/wastewater utlities, accountants, freelance assessors, food manufacturers, equipment manufacturers, and golf & country clubs in a variety of areas, including: application development (AR, work orders, inventory, and asset management), networking systems (LANs & off-site dial-in), consulting on software & hardware solutions, 24/7 user training & support (telephone, on-site, and on-line), writing marketing & user documentation, and assisting in the preparation of financial reports & evaluations.
