The bulk of my translating/interpreting experience lies in the area of business, finance, securities and investment management. I am also very comfortable with general legal and commercial topics, such as contracts, court papers, wills and trust documents. Coincidentally, I also hold an MBA in Finance and Investment Management from a respectable school in the US.
On numerous occasions, I have provided consecutive Russian to English and English to Russian interpretation during high level meetings at a variety of US government organizations, such as US Dept of the Interior, World Bank, TIAA-CREF, Association of American Railroads, The College of Insurance in NYC to name just a few and at a number of functions sponsored by major US and international banks. I have also interpreted at numerous immigration hearings and proceedings in NYC.
I am Internet-savvy and will be able to electronically research and deliver the finished product anywhere.
I do not do technical translations that require expertise in the fields of science or engineering. I do not, as a rule, use CAT tools.
I pride myself on being punctual, and I have never - not even once - failed to observe delivery deadlines I have committed to. My preferred MO is Russian to English, however, I am equally good at providing well-rounded, idiomatic translations of poorly written documents, without detriment to their original word and spirit. As a highly skilled professional, I expect to be paid accordingly. I will not compete on price alone as a matter of policy.
