Translation in the fields of education, law and medicine. I have been a full-time freelance translator since 2009. I currently work as a translator/reviewer for several language service providers in the United States, Spain and Mexico City. I am a sworn translator authorized by Colima's Supreme Court of Justice.
I was an in-house translator at Mexico's University of Colima between 2003 and 2009, where I translated hundreds of documents (from English into Spanish and viceversa) related to law, economics, tourism, information technologies, animal husbandry, chemistry, and education. I also was an interpreter at this University during several events and meetings, in addition to being the official interpreter of the President of this University between 2007 and 2009.
During the time that I worked for the University of Colima, I also was a part-time freelance translator working for the public and private sectors, such as the Government of the State of Colima, the Consortium of Mexican Universities (for which I translated five numbers of the journal named Espacio Común, from Spanish into English), and two translation agencies based in Mexico city, for which I translated legal documents and documentation connected with pharmaceuticals and clinical trials.
I received my bachelor's degree in English Language from the University of Colima, in Colima, Mexico, in 1998. In 2000, I was awarded the Certificate in Advanced English (CAE), issued by the University of Cambrdige. In the year 2003, I completed the master's degree in translation and interpretation also at the University of Colima. In 2005 I took and passed the certification exam of the Mexican Translators Association.
