I was first challenged to consider translation as an income-producing activity some 30 years ago when I was working in Court administration, interpreting the evidence given by witnesses from France at a County Court hearing (the interpreter retained by the respondent's lawyer having failed to show).
I am now semi-retired (but active!) and combine freelance translating with work as an advocate in the County Courts in England. My legal specialisations include Commercial Litigation, Insolvency and Conveyancing.
I regard my strengths to be total immersion in the use of administrative and legal English, whether that be in the arcane language of old property deeds, officialese, "Eurobabble" or "plain English".
Aware that official bodies often insist on certified translations, I offer the following:

* Translation and translator's certificate verified by an English notary (please be aware that the notary does not vouch for the accuracy of the translation)
