When Tracey Friley, creator and principal of OneBrownGirl.com(R) (OBG), won first prize at the Black Enterprise Elevator Pitch Competition in 2008, she had no idea that less than two years later she would be penning a book meant to help kids cope with being bullied by racial slurs. Inspired by Friley's business coach and his challenge for her to tap into her personal pain, Friley is using her personal experiences growing up as a young Brown Girl in Los Angeles to fuel her ongoing mission to empower Brown Girls that need a little love and understanding with her book "Talking White: 14 Ways to Cope with Thoughtless Remarks."
