About me
My primary passions in life are languages and linguistics, although I have substantial professional experience in an eclectic range of fields. I began translating in the late 90's and continued working in other fields, primarily cinema and AV productions.
For the past 6 years my wife Barbara and I have been collaborating. This not only guarantees those translations with Italian as a target language will be perfect, but also that all of our translations will benefit from two pairs of eyes reviewing and discussing each text. Beyond the increased quality, this collaboration also means that we have a quicker turnaround.
My wife began her career as an artist before becoming an art critic. After a brief stint as a technical writer for nuclear science she studied cinema. Successively she worked in film production before dedicating her time completely to writing scripts and documentaries. Recently she has expanded her writing into children's books as well as translation.
My own professional experience covers many fields and has allowed me to learn the correct jargon in a variety of jobs. I am originally from the bilingual (Spanish and English) city of San Diego. I studied French for seven years in school and participated in a short exchange program in Fontainebleau, France, as well as various trips in different parts of France and francophone Switzerland. For many years I lived and worked for many years in various regions of Italy, and since 2005 I have been based in Barcelona.
