Der Höhepunkt aber ist das eigentliche Hauptrennen, das zum heimlichen Ruhm der Khampa-Krieger und zur Ehre des Klosters Ganden Tubchen Chokhorling geritten wird. Am Morgen versammeln sich über einhundert Reiter vor den Mauern der Abtei. Die langen Haare sind mit roter Wolle um den Kopf geflochten. Manche von ihnen provozieren die chinesischen Autoritäten, indem sie trotz Verbots gut sichtbar das Bild des XIV. Dalai Lama bei sich tragen und mit ihren nervösen Pferden hautnah an den Ordnungshütern vorbeitänzeln. Den Lama Tense Taji, der in ihrer Mitte reitet, umkreisen sie wie ein Bienenschwarm seine Königin, so als gelte es, ihn vor Anfeindungen zu beschützen.
Erst auf sein Signal hin beginnt das Rennen. Drei Kilometer weit fordern sie von ihren Pferden höchste Leistung. Es kommt zu Massenstürzen. Die, die sich Sattel an Sattel in die vordere Reihe geschoben haben, werden vom Publikum, das die gesamte Rennstrecke säumt, frenetisch angefeuert. Der strahlende Sieger wird vom Lama höchstpersönlich beglückwünscht und erhält als Preis eines der begehrten chromblitzenden Motorräder, eine Art Harley Davidson chinesischer Bauart, die in jüngster Zeit den Nomaden das Pferd ersetzen.
Während des Festes haben die Mönche des Klosters Ganden Tubchen Chokhorling das Mandala aus Sand fertiggestellt. Es ist bunt und wunderschön geworden. Seinen Sinn, die Gottheit Yamantanka einzuladen und das Reiterfest zum Erfolg zu führen, hat sich erfüllt, denn einen Toten hat es dieses Jahr nicht gegeben.
Lama Tense Taji ist zuversichtlich, dass Kham einer Renaissance der buddhistischen Kultur entgegenblickt. Bisher wurden etwa 60 Prozent der Klöster Osttibets, wenn auch unter den strengen Augen der Chinesen, wieder aufgebaut. Der Abt hat einen klaren Geist: "Eine politische Unabhängigkeit Khams oder gar ganz Tibets halte ich für unwahrscheinlich." Der Mönch fühlt sich weniger der Politik als vielmehr der Religion verpflichtet: "Ich bin dazu berufen, die Lehre des Buddha an die Jugend weiterzugeben, solange ich lebe. Al mattino più di un centinaio di cavalieri si riuniscono davanti alle mura dell’abbazia, i lunghi capelli intrecciati intorno alla testa insieme a fasce di lana rossa. Per provocare le autorità cinesi, più di uno, nonostante i divieti, porta con sé in modo ben visibile il ritratto del quattordicesimo Dalai Lama, facendo scalpitare il cavallo nervoso praticamente sotto il naso dei tutori dell’ordine. I Khampa circondano il lama Tense Taji, che cavalca in mezzo a loro, come uno sciame di api circonda la loro regina, come se volessero proteggerlo da possibili minacce.
Al via inizia la corsa. Tre chilometri più in là i Khampa esigono il massimo dai loro cavalli. Si precipitano in massa. I monasteri del Kham”, si rallegra, “si risvegliano ad una nuova vita”.

Cornigliano (in genovese Cornigen, pronuncia Curnigen) è un quartiere del ponente di Genova situato tra le delegazioni di Sampierdarena e Sestri Ponente.
Secondo alcuni storici, tra cui il Giustiniani – che nel XVI redasse gli annali della città – il nome della località potrebbe derivare dalla Gens Cornelia, la famiglia romana dei Cornelii, che avrebbe posseduto terreni nella zona pianeggiante tra il torrente Polcevera e Sestri, luogo chiamato appunto ager cornelianium, cioè campo dei Cornelii.
Secondo altri storici, invece, l’origine del toponimo è ancora più antica ed è da attribuire ad un’antica tribù ligure, quella dei Veturii che, nell’età del ferro, dominava il territorio compreso tra il Polcevera ed Arenzano. Il nome deriverebbe da Corito di Giano, proveniente dall’antico ligure Cor (Corito) ni (di) gien (Giano).
Cornigliano fa parte dei territori posti sotto l’influenza dell’impero romano e viene considerato punto strategico (sia in riva al mare che nella parte collinare) per l’avvistamento e la difesa.
Intorno all’anno Mille Cornigliano è annoverato tra i centri civili del genovesato e dipende direttamente dalla nobile famiglia dei Camardino che risiede nella vallata del Polcevera.
L’area, intorno al XII secolo, è divisa in tre zone (Terzieri): Campi (la più vasta per estensione, destinata alle coltivazioni e meno popolata) situata tra il territorio di Borzoli, l’argine destro del Polcevera e la sua foce, Cornigliano in posizione più centrale e luogo di residenza della maggior parte degli abitanti, stanziati prevalentemente nella zona collinare (allora erano frequenti le visite poco amichevoli dei corsari) e la Colombara, così chiamata per la propria conformazione naturale richiamante i nidi dei volatili, situata in posizione elevata, nella parte più occidentale, scelta dalla maggior parte dei numerosi pescatori per stabilirvi le proprie residenze (distante quanto basta dall'affaccio diretto sul mare per le frequenti invasioni che da lì provenivano).
Il nucleo abitato che si sviluppa tra il mare e le colline, ricco di frutteti e di coltivazioni, decantato persino dal Petrarca come splendido luogo di villeggiatura fuori le mura di Genova, non tarda ad acquisire una configurazione che lo eleva a centro di una certa importanza, infatti, tra fine 1100 e inizio 1200, viene scelto come zona destinata ad accogliere le seconde dimore delle ricche e nobili famiglie tanto influenti a Genova, quasi ridisegnando una piccola città nella spartizione di poteri e territori: i Doria (un documento del 1174 li cita in quanto proprietari di terre e nei secoli successivi li ritroviamo presenti come proprietari di ville attorniate da ampi poderi), gli Spinola (il cui palazzo è documentato già nel 1228), i Di Negro e a seguire i Gentile (1290), i Pallavicino, i Mari, i Grillo, i Serra, i Lercari con insediamenti dapprima non troppo ampi e sfarzosi, ma destinati ad evolvere, in molti casi già a partire dal ‘400, in preziosi palazzi opera di famosi architetti, contornati da meravigliosi giardini che spesso giungono fino al mare.
Cornigliano tende ad assumere una configurazione peculiare a metà strada tra il centro urbano e la zona rurale così come denota il Ratti alla fine del ‘700: “Averete già goduto di buona parte della vista della Polcevera; ma da niun altro luogo meglio che da questo Ponte che l’attraversa ne potrete godere tutta, o in maggior parte almeno la prospettiva, che porgerà agli occhi vostri una rappresentanza veramente teatrale, per la varietà delle Ville, per l’amenità de’ giardini, …e per un complesso maestoso, e villereccio, che non lascia discernere se sia città oppur campagna”.
Cornigliano, dunque, costellata di splendide dimore, frutteti, ameni giardini non smette di attrarre per la prorpia collocazione e per le bellezze naturali: accoglie una tra le più belle dimore Settecentesche a Genova, Villa Durazzo Bombrini, prezioso esempio di architettura in stile francese, immersa negli splendidi giardini che arrivano sino al mare; diviene luogo di passaggio del cosiddetto Grand Tour e viene ammirata da numerosi visitatori; in tempi a noi più vicini fa da scenario all’incantevole castello in stile liberty fatto edificare da Edilio Raggio (ritenuto in un certo momento storico l’uomo più ricco d’Italia), dimora splendida e ambita, dopo la sua morte, da nobili e ricchi d’ogni dove.

Cornigliano (in Genoese Cornigen, pronunciation Curnigen) is a western neighborhood of Genoa placed between Sampierdarena and Sestri Ponente.
According to some historians, among which Giustiniani – who wrote the city annals in the 16th century – its name may have been derived from Gens Cornelia, the Roman family of Cornelii, that owned lands in the flat area between the Torrent Polcevera and Sestri, called “ager cornelianium”, i.e. Cornelii’s field.
Other historians, on the contrary, are of the view that the toponym origin is much older and should be ascribed to an ancient Ligurian tribe, the one of Veturii which, in the Iron Age, dominated the territory between Polcevera and Arenzano. The name could derive from Corito of Janus, that in the ancient Ligurian language becomes Cor (Corito) ni (of) gien (Janus).
Once conquered by the Roman Empire, Cornigliano was considered strategically vital both for sighting and defence (on the shoreline as well as on the uplands).
Around the year 1000, Cornigliano belonged to the urban centers of the Genoa Territory “Genovesato” and was under the direct power of the noble family Camardino residing in the Polcevera Valley.
In the 12th century, its area is divided into three zones (Terzieri): Campi (the largest one as to its extent, used for cultivation and scarcely inhabited) situated between Borzoli and the Polcevera right bank and its estuary, Cornigliano in a more central position where most inhabitants resided, primarily on the hilltops (corsair raids were frequent at that time) and Colombara, so-named because birds found its natural conformation appealing for nesting, situated more westward and halfway up the hill, primarily inhabited by fishermen who chose this area because it was far enough from the sea and therefore sheltered from the raids.
This inhabited nucleus, spreading from the seaside up to the hills, with lush orchards and fields, which was also celebrated by the poet Petrarca as a wonderful vacation resort just outside the walls of Genoa, quickly became an important center. Between the late 1100’s and the late 1200’s Cornigliano was chosen by wealthy, noble and influential Genoese families as the location for their second mansions, thus transferring, to a new little town, the same share of powers as in Genoa: the Doria family (a document of 1174 mentions the Dorias as owners of lands, and in the following centuries they are recorded as owners of mansions surrounded by huge properties), the Spinola family (whose palace is first proven by a document of 1228), the Di Negro family and then the following families: Gentile (1290), Pallavicino, Mari, Grillo, Serra, Lercari who started first with modest residences and then built magnificent palaces, masterpieces of famous architects, surrounded by gorgeous gardens, sometimes spreading to the seaside.
Cornigliano gradually became a peculiar center, half urban center half a rural area, as Ratti describes at the end of 1700: ”Thou hath surely already enjoyed a part of the overview on the Polcevera, but from no other better place than from the Bridge that goes across it thou can enjoy all the landscape, or the most part of it, that will appear to thy eyes as a very theatre of scenery, for the variety of its villas, for the pleasantness of its gardens.....and from this magnificent and rustic view thou cannot perceive whether it is town or countryside”.
Cornigliano, studded with gorgeous mansions, orchards, pleasant gardens, was more and more appealing because of its landscape and natural beauty: it has the most magnificent mansion of the 18th century in Genoa, Villa Durazzo Bombrini, a precious example of French style architecture, blessed by wonderful gardens stretching to the seaside; the so-called Grand Tour went across it and many visitors could admire Cornigliano; more recently, it is the background of the wonderful Art-Noveau castle built by Edilio Raggio (reputed to be the wealthiest man in Italy), splendid mansion desired by many noble and wealthy families after Raggio’s death.

3.4 Novellierung des Personenbeförderungsgesetzes
Im Zuge der Bahnreform wurde auch das Personenbeförderungsgesetz (PBefG) wesentlich geändert.
Es bezieht sich auf den Linienverkehr im straßengebundenen ÖPNV. Neu eingeführt wurden die Institution des Aufgabenträgers, das Instrument des Nahverkehrsplans, die Unterscheidung zwischen eigen- und gemeinwirtschaftlichen Genehmigungen mit dem Ziel des Wettbewerbs der Leistungsanbieter sowie die Einschränkung des Besitzstandschutzes.
Für die inhaltliche Ausgestaltung des ÖPNV vor Ort ist der Aufgabenträger zuständig.
Der Genehmigungsbehörde obliegt die Prüfung des Tatbestandes einer ausreichenden
und wirtschaftlichen Verkehrsgestaltung unter besonderer Beachtung der verkehrlichen
und tariflichen Kooperation der Verkehrsunternehmen. Ziel ist ein integriertes ÖPNV-Angebot ‘aus einer Hand’. Die Genehmigungsbehörde erfüllt ihre Aufgabe im Zusammenwirken mit dem Aufgabenträger des ÖPNV und den Verkehrsunternehmen. Wer Aufgabenträger des ÖPNV ist und nach welchen Kriterien die Nahverkehrspläne aufzustellen sind, regeln die Länder (vgl. Abschnitt 4).
Verkehrsleistungen im ÖPNV sind eigenwirtschaftlich zu erbringen. Ist eine ausreichende
Verkehrsbedienung eigenwirtschaftlich nicht möglich, werden die Regeln der Verordnung (EWG) Nr. 1191/69 in der neuesten Fassung angewendet. Genehmigungen von Linienverkehren aufgrund einer Vereinbarung oder Auferlegung sogenannter gemeinwirtschaftlicher Verkehrsleistungen setzen voraus, daß die Kosten für die Allgemeinheit so gering wie möglich gehalten werden. Der bisherige Besitzstandschutz für vorhandene Verkehrsunternehmen entfällt in diesen Fällen ganz, und die Ermittlung der geringsten Kosten über eine Ausschreibung eröffnet den Weg zum Wettbewerb der Verkehrsunternehmen.
Die Genehmigung solcher gemeinwirtschaftlicher Verkehrsdienste ist von der Genehmigungsbehörde
zu versagen, wenn der Nachweis hinsichtlich der geringsten Kosten nicht erbracht oder der Grundsatz der Gleichbehandlung verletzt worden ist.
Das Verfahren zur Ermittlung der geringsten Kosten für die Allgemeinheit ist durch eine Rechtsverordnung des Bundesministers für Verkehr festgelegt worden. Sie ist bei Neuerteilung einer Genehmigung zu beachten.
In Städten, in denen auf ein höherwertigeres ÖPNV-Angebot aufgrund der Verkehrsprobleme
nicht verzichtet werden kann, können die kommunalen Unternehmen zur Deckung der Fehlbeträge im Nahverkehr vielfach Gewinne aus im Querverbund geführten Versorgungsunternehmen (Strom, Gas, Wasser) einsetzen. Diese Praxis schließt die Einstufung der Verkehrsleistungen als eigenwirtschaftlich nicht aus, so daß die finanziell so gesicherten Verkehrsleistungen nicht ausgeschrieben werden
müssen. Ob und inwieweit die angekündigte Novellierung der VO 1191/69 der EU daran etwas ändern wird, bleibt abzuwarten.

3.4 . Modifica della legge sul trasporto dei passeggeri
Con la riforma ferroviaria è stata radicalmente modificata anche la legge sul trasporto dei passeggeri (PBefG) che si riferisce al trasporto di linea nel TPL (n.d.t. Trasporto Pubblico Locale) su strada. Di nuova introduzione sono stati l’istituzione del coordinatore, lo strumento del Piano di Trasporto Locale, la differenziazione tra autorizzazioni private e pubbliche per creare concorrenza tra i fornitori, ed infine la limitazione della tutela dei diritti acquisiti. Il coordinatore è responsabile dell’organizzazione del TPL sul posto. All’autorità competente per le autorizzazioni spetta il compito di esaminare la realizzazione di un’organizzazione adeguata ed economica del trasporto cercando in particolare di ottenenere la cooperazione delle aziende di trasporto in merito alla rete e alle tariffe. Lo scopo è ottenere un’offerta integrata di TPL ‘da un solo soggetto’. L’autorità competente per le autorizzazioni opera di concerto con il coordinatore del TPL e con le aziende di trasporto. I Länder stabiliscono chi debba essere il coordinatore del TPL e con quali criteri si debbano redigere i piani di trasporto.
I servizi relativi ai trasporto saranno eseguite da privati. Ove ciò non fosse possibile, si ricorrerà alle norme del decreto (UE) n. 1191/69 dell’ultima versione. Condizione essenziale per ottenere permessi di linea concordati o imposti per aziende cosiddette pubbliche è che i costi per la collettività siano i più bassi possibile. L’attuale tutela dei diritti acquisiti dalle aziende di trasporto esistenti viene totalmente a cadere i questi casi e l’indicazione dei costi più bassi nella gara d’appalto apre la strada alla concorrenza delle aziende di trasporto.
Alle aziende di tipo pubblico viene negata, dall’Autorità preposta, l’autorizzazione ai servizi di trasporto quando non viene fornita la documentazione relativa ai costi più bassi oppure quando è violato il principio di pari trattamento. Un decreto del Ministero Federale dei Trasporti stabilisce la procedura per la determinazione del prezzo più basso per la collettività e deve essere osservato ogni volta che viene concessa una nuova autorizzazione.
Nelle città, che a causa del traffico particolarmente intenso necessitano maggiormente di una valida offerta di TPL, le aziende municipali possono utilizzare in modo vario gli utili provenienti da aziende collegate (elettricità, gas, acqua) per coprire le perdite del trasporto pubblico. My work experience as a translator started as a spin-off of my research work in German Literature, translating from German into Italian some works of the author I was dealing with. After a short experience as a teacher I started to work in companies operating in International fields, among which also a German multinational company. Some more details can be found in my résumé. As an in-house translator I had to cope with many language fields. A fascinating challenge to me and an appreciable opportunity to ask experts anytime I needed explanation to understand better what I was translating, and to acquire an extensive glossary both in German and in English.
My main areas of expertise, related to my past work experience, ranged from medical papers, sugar, mining & nuclear plants, waste water treatment, weighing systems, European research projects on transportation and advanced technology as well as railway certification terminology. My favourite fields of interest I would like to work on in the future are music, literature, medical research, naturopathy.
I am a Certified Member EN-IT of STIBC - Society on Translators and Interpreters of British Columbia, and I am currently working as Quality Manager/Proofreader for translations English/German-Italian.
