Nel nostro linguaggio quotidiano spesso la parola negoziazione viene associata al “mercanteggiare” e in generale all’ambito commerciale.
Del resto la parola stessa deriva dal latino “negotium” che vuol dire trattativa.
Tuttavia limitare la negoziazione all'ambito commerciale sarebbe riduttivo.
Negoziare è una azione naturale dell’essere umano. Impariamo a negoziare fin da bambini e continuiamo a negoziare durante tutta la nostra vita, con noi stessi, con i nostri cari, con i vicini di casa, con i colleghi, con i clienti, con gli altri Project Manager.
Ogni volta che per perseguire il nostro scopo dobbiamo confrontarci con obiettivi contrastanti, desideri opposti, scadenze concomitanti, con ogni forma di decisione condivisa, più o meno importante, noi negoziamo.

In our day to day, the word negotiation is often associated with trade and generally with the commercial environment.
The word is derived from the Latin “negotium”, meaning bargaining.
It would be somewhat narrow, however, to limit the negotiation to a commercial context.
Negotiating is a natural human act. We learn how to negotiate from childhood and continue to negotiate throughout our lives, with ourselves, loved ones, neighbours, colleagues, clients and with other Project Managers.
Every time that in the pursuit of our goals we are forced to deal with conflicting objectives, opposing desires, simultaneous deadlines, any type of shared, and more or less important decision making, we are negotiating.
