The Founding of Quel'Thalas
Gradually the exiled Highborne developed striking differences from the night elves. Cut off from the new Well of Eternity, they diminished in height, and their skin lost its characteristic violet hue. In addition, the elves lost their resistance to injury and illness, and they became mortal. Many of the elves died from exposure or starvation during their long journey. In addition to these hardships, the elves were forced to flee the site of their first settlement, Tirisfal Glades, due to a mysterious evil influence that drove many of their number mad.
As they pressed further inland, the elves developed a blood feud with the cunning forest trolls of Zul'Aman, who controlled most of the northern reaches of Lordaeron. Finally the exiled elves reached a region whose forestland reminded them of their distant homeland in Kalimdor. They drove out the resident Amani trolls, founded the kingdom of Quel'Thalas, and began calling themselves high elves. They also crowned Dath'Remar as their first monarch.
In spite of the hardship they had endured, the high elves remained determined to continue their spellcasting, for they had come to consider arcane power their birthright. Using a vial of sacred water stolen from the first Well of Eternity, they created a fount of mystical power at a convergence of powerful ley energies in Quel'Thalas. They named this fountain the Sunwell. Although it was weaker by far than the first Well of Eternity, the Sunwell's potent arcane magic fed and strengthened the high elves.
Thus, the city of Silvermoon was established. The power of the high elves grew, and they cast an enchantment on the forest that would keep them bathed in eternal springtime. From that day forward, all high elves were constantly suffused in the Sunwell's energies, and the elves came to regard the Sunwell's waters as holy. Although most high elves were not spellcasters, all high elves had access to the fountain's power no matter where they located on Azeroth.
Elven magi crafted monolithic Runestones along the borders of Quel'Thalas; these massive stones powered a magical shield intended to mask the elves' magic from extra-dimensional threats and protect the land from invasion. The hard-won peace of Quel'Thalas would endure for roughly four thousand years. | Translation - Spanish

Progresivamente, los Altos Natos exiliados desarrollaron asombrosas diferencias con respecto a los elfos nocturnos. Desheredados del Pozo de la Eternidad, los exiliados desaparecieron en las alturas, perdiendo su tono de piel violeta tan característico. Asimismo, los elfos perdieron su resistencia natural a las enfermedades y lesiones, así como también se convirtieron en seres mortales. Muchos de ellos fallecieron debido a la exposición y por hambruna durante el largo recorrido del viaje emprendido. Además de todas estas dificultades, los elfos se vieron forzados a huir del sitio de su primer establecimiento, los Claros de Tirisfal, debido a una misteriosa influencia maligna que volvió locos a muchos de ellos.
Mientras más se adentraban en el territorio de Lordaeron, los elfos desarrollaron una gran enemistad contra los astutos trols del bosque, provenientes de Zul’Aman, los cuales controlaban una gran parte de la zona del norte de Lordaeron. Los elfos exiliados, finalmente, llegaron a una región cuyo entorno les recordaba a su ahora distante tierra natal de Kalimdor. Asimismo, Dath’Remar fue coronado como el primer monarca de este reino.
Los elfos nobles mantuvieron su afán de continuar con el uso de su magia, pese a todos los inconvenientes por los que habían pasado, ya que consideraban que la magia arcana era parte de ellos mismos, de forma natal. Así, ellos crearon una fuente de místico poder, utilizando un frasco de agua sagrada del mismísimo Pozo de la Eternidad original, para unir todas las energías de Quel’Thalas. Los elfos nombraron a este pozo el “Pozo del Sol”. La potente magia arcana proveniente de éste, aun siendo más débil que el primer Pozo de la Eternidad, alimentó con energías y fortaleció a los elfos nobles. De esta manera, se estableció la ciudad de Lunargenta.
El poder de los elfos nobles creció y creció, y estos lanzaron un encantamiento sobre el bosque para que un clima primaveral los cubra perpetuamente. A partir de ese día, todos los elfos nobles fueron cubiertos por las energías del Pozo del Sol y comenzaron a considerar las aguas del pozo como sagradas. A pesar de que no todos los elfos nobles eran taumaturgos o magos, todos ellos tenían acceso a los poderes del pozo desde cualquier paraje de Azeroth.
Los magos élficos elaboraron runas monolíticas alrededor de los lindes de Quel’Thalas; estas enormes piedras creaban un poderoso escudo mágico con el propósito de enmascarar la magia de los elfos de amenazas extra-dimensionales y para proteger su tierra de cualquier posible invasión.
