The National Conference of Brazilian Bishops wrote a statement following the decision which said it "regretted" the decision and added its opposition "is not a matter of religion, but of the defense of human life, beginning with conception."
5 of the opposing Supreme Court justices said that the research should be undertaken "with restrictions" and that each and every case should be cleared by a committee.

I've been in translation since 1992. I lived and studied in Tampa, (Florida/USA) and in Ramsgate (England) after I got my major in English-Portuguese Language Literature from UNIFIEO/SP. I spent some time in France and in Belgium, too.
I've also got a subtitling course from Alumni (São Paulo) as well as Cambridge and University of London Proficiency Certificates.
I have a specialization course on Translation from PUC - São Paulo, and a Post-Graduation Translation Course from UNIBERO - São Paulo.
I've already worked as a free-lancer translator for several companies, such as Bradesco, ArvinMeritor, Hughes do Brasil, Data cargo (Miami/USA), etc.
Currently not only do I work both as a free-lancer and as a hired translator for two agencies and a publisher in Alphaville, São Paulo, but I also coordinate an English language school here in Brazil. | This user has earned KudoZ points by helping other translators with PRO-level terms.
