Chinese ↔ English ↔ Polish translation
I have been a translator since 2004.
In addition to my linguistic expertise, I have also acquired an extensive hands-on experience and understanding of production processes, technology and equipment, especially in the fields of brass founding (as a QA manager for a faucet producer in China) and wood working (as a sales person for a scantlings factory in Poland).
I have translated operator's manuals and marketing materials. I have localized industrial software from English into Polish and from Chinese into Polish.
Owing to my professional experience in fields other than translation, I am much better prepared to deal with issues related to technology or business than I would have otherwise been.
I do also translate financial documents and general humanities like history or tourism, but they do not strictly fall within the scope of my occupational expertise.
I am also a literary translator, in my spare time :).
I hold an MA degree in Chinese, which I received from Warsaw University in 2002.
In 2014, I passed the 6th (i.e. the highest) level of the new Chinese Proficiency Test (known as HSK6).
In 2017, I received my MA degree in English from Jagiellonian University.
In 2017, I received my Post-graduate Diploma in Translation from Jagiellonian University.
I had lived in China for more than 7 years.
