It is my pleasure to welcome you to the 23rd European Shell Eco-marathon.
What you are about to experience is a unique insight into the experimental ideas of the next generation of engineers to meet one of the most important challenges the world is facing – the search for more efficient, cleaner, affordable energy solutions for the future of mobility.
With 257 registered teams from 20 countries and thousands of the world’s leading young design and engineering students taking part in this year’s competition, it promises to be one of the most diverse and exciting events since the Shell Eco-marathon began in 1985.
At Shell, our aim is to meet the energy needs of society in ways that are economically, socially and environmentally viable. The Shell Eco-marathon provides young engineers and scientists with a platform to experiment and demonstrate how to drive vehicles the maximum distance using the minimum amount of fuel.
For the last twelve months, the competing teams have worked hard to design and build the most fuel-efficient, low emission vehicles ever made. Both the futuristic prototypes and the UrbanConcept vehicles, designed for on-road use, harness some of the latest ideas in energy efficiency, using both conventional fuels and alternative energy sources.
This weekend, the Shell Eco-marathon teams will demonstrate their inspired achievements for all the world to see. It is energy for our future, technology and fun.

E’ un vero piacere per me darvi il benvenuto alla 23^ edizione della European Shell Eco-marathon.
L’esperienza che vi accingete ad affrontare vi permetterà di scoprire idee sperimentali uniche partorite dagli ingegneri del futuro che ci permetteranno di far fronte a una delle sfide più importanti che si stanno ponendo al mondo: la ricerca di soluzioni energetiche più efficienti, più pulite, più affidabili per il futuro della mobilità.
Questa edizione della competizione vedrà la partecipazione di 257 team provenienti da 20 paesi che coinvolgeranno migliaia di giovani studenti a livello internazionale nell’ambito del design e dell’ingegneria: la manifestazione promette quindi di configurarsi come la più eterogenea ed entusiasmante competizione mai vista dalla prima edizione della Shell Eco-marathon nel 1985.
Il nostro obiettivo in Shell è quello di soddisfare le esigenze energetiche della società mettendo in atto soluzioni sostenibili a livello economico, sociale e ambientale: la Shell Eco-marathon offre a giovani ingegneri e scienziati la possibilità di accedere a una piattaforma sperimentale che permetterà loro di dimostrare come i nostri veicoli possano percorrere distanze elevate utilizzando solo una quantità minima di carburante.
Negli ultimi dodici mesi i team concorrenti hanno lavorato duramente allo scopo di progettare e costruire i veicoli meno inquinanti e più efficienti in termini di consumo energetico mai creati prima d’ora: sia i prototipi futuristici sia i veicoli appartenenti alla categoria UrbanConcept, studiati per un utilizzo su strada, mettono in pratica alcune delle più moderne idee in materia di efficienza energetica facendo leva tanto sui carburanti convenzionali quanto sulle fonti di energie alternative.
Nel corso di questo fine settimana, i team che partecipano alla Shell Eco-marathon presenteranno i risultati raggiunti davanti agli occhi del mondo: stiamo parlando di energia per il nostro futuro, di tecnologia e di divertimento.

Hello everyone!
I have been working as a free-lance interpreter and translator for both translation companies and direct customers for the past 13 years. I am currently enjoying a very good translation business since my customers are always satisfied with my job and say reliability and professionalism are key words to me.
I mainly work as an interpreter at business meetings, training courses and large conferences. I can offer top-quality service in all types of interpreting, simultaneous interpreting in particular. Thanks to a large pool of colleagues and collaborators (some of them already proz.com users) I can manage larger projects of any kind.
