| Albert Stufkens endorses ProZ.com's Professional Guidelines (v1.0). |
After having attended Teacher's College in Utrecht (Netherlands) I emigrated to Australia. There I worked for General Motors for 14 years in the Production and Finance Departments. In the meantime, I completed a 4-year Personnel Administration course.
In 1975 I returned to The Netherlands. While combining jobs in finance (controlling) with studies I completed an English language course graduating for High School teachership in 1979 where the art of translation was emphasized. Since then I have done translation jobs on a professional and freelance basis - now for 33 years. This practice has given me extremely broad experience on the translation scene.
For many years I have been a sworn translator to the Rotterdam District Court. Due to a newly passed law concerning sworn translators and the requirements therefor I am now on the short list of active translators for the Netherlands Public Prosecutor's Office.
In April 2012 I successfully completed a course in International Law at the Open University in The Netherlands.

Recommendation: do your translations yourself by Google Translate. That is the cheapest option.
