The past few years have been busy ones for human-rights organisations. In prosecuting the so-called war on terror, many governments in Western countries where freedoms seemed secure have tempted to nibble away at them. Just as well, you might suppose, that doughty campaigners such as Amnesty International exist to leap to their defence. Yet Amnesty no longer makes the splash it used to in the rich world. This is not for want of speaking out. The organisation is as vocal as it ever was. But some years ago it decided to follow intellectual fashion and dilute its traditional focus on political rights by mixing in a new category of what people now call social and economic rights.

Τα τελευταία χρόνια οι οργανώσεις που μάχονται για τα ανθρώπινα δικαιώματα είχαν πολλή δουλειά. Εμμένοντας στον επονομαζόμενο πόλεμο κατά της τρομοκρατίας, πολλές κυβερνήσεις στις Δυτικές χώρες όπου οι ατομικές ελευθερίες φαίνονταν ασφαλείς δοκίμασαν βαθμιαία να τις αποδυναμώσουν. Ευτυχώς, θα μπορούσε να υποθέσει κανείς, που αυτοί οι οποίοι αγωνίζονται με θάρρος, όπως η Διεθνής Αμνηστία, υπάρχουν για να ενεργήσουν γρήγορα για την προάσπιση αυτών των ελευθεριών. 	X Why did the menu change? The updates to the menu were made to make the site easy and more intuitive for visitors. Obviously, like any change, this may take a few days to get used to. The dropdown menus have been divided into two-dimensional panels with similar items grouped together under headings. This eliminates scrolling for those with smaller screens, and also improves readability. More information on the changes... Where is the "My ProZ.com" menu? Mouseover your name at the top of the screen. Here you will find information about your account, your email settings, and more. The "My ProZ.com" menu was moved up here to simplify the main navigation, and to keep all of this type of information together. I cannot find something If you are having trouble finding something with the new menu, please submit a support request.
