Translation - English As a kid I was always amazed at the way horses always seemed to know which way to go, by day or by night, even in the worst of storms; and how dogs could follow their nose and retrace their steps all the way back to their starting point, however far they may have strayed; and the cat’s uncanny ability to always find his way home at the end of his wanderings. I am certainly not gifted with such instincts, nor do I possess that invaluable sense of direction which enables most people to navigate highways and byways to places where they have never even been, or have perhaps been only once. The second I venture outside of my normal surroundings I become hopelessly lost. Lacking all sense of direction and completely inept as far as abstract thought, judgment and much needed calculation are concerned, journeys to unfamiliar places are unthinkable for me unless someone else does the driving or I have some knowledgeable individual at hand to guide me. A prisoner of my poor self-perception, I lack the freedom to come and go at will, and am likewise incapable of overcoming my handicap. I can’t learn, can’t understand…I just can’t; maps mean nothing to me. I have no internal compass, nor any gift of intuition—I couldn’t distinguish north from south or east from west, even if my life depended on it. Of course, since I prefer to stay put, this all works out quite nicely. I never wander too far from my stomping grounds so as not to get lost. There isn’t much reason for me to leave my neighborhood anyway; I do what I can to keep my social life close to home. The adventurous spirit of the explorer has no place in me. I get my directions all mixed up, and am constantly surprised when things I always thought were on my right show up on my left. When I park my car away from home, I look for it in all the wrong places, and find myself confronted with a hugely time-consuming problem that should really never have even been a problem in the first place.

Translation - English OBJECTIVE:
The objective of this assessment is to evaluate and furnish an opinion of Mrs. Dx for the position of Non-life Policy Advisor and to evaluate her potential.
GENERAL PRESENTATION AND MOTIVATION
Mrs. Dx’s presentation is professional but genuine. Her attitude is pleasant without being superficial.
With a legal background, she was not particularly interested in insurance at first but she has learned to appreciate the field. Mrs. Dx has taken advantage of many opportunities in her career, especially on an international level, and has been able to demonstrate her capacity to adapt herself to different environments. Until now she has been highly career-oriented but she is hoping to be able to find a balance between her personal and professional life, a positive indication of her maturity and stability. She hopes to dedicate herself long-term to her work at a professional level.
We must nevertheless draw your attention to the fact that Mrs. Dx is an avid learner and she hopes to continue offering her services to her employer as much as possible. She finds it hard to deal with routine. Learning and establishing new contacts are her driving factors. She is sensitive to both the working atmosphere and the confidence placed in her. An open spirit focused on teamwork will allow her to be more motivated.
In her consideration, her ambition is not to be a career woman, although she does want to develop herself more than anything else.
She likes Brusselles as her family is not far from there.
She wants to learn Dutch, which could be considered an integration factor.
COMPETENCY (CEA/ASSURALIA)
INFLUENCING: Presentation, Verbal Communication, Written Communication, Persuasion Capability, Sociability
Mrs. Dx’s presentation is pleasant. As she develops a relationship with those she speaks to, she becomes more at ease. She must nevertheless be aware of the image that she can give (for example, avoiding putter her hands in her pockets during a presentation). She doesn’t do this out of sloppiness but as a means of controlling her stress.
Her verbal communication is direct and focuses in general on the facts and the data. Nevertheless, she should work on summarazing matters more, especially when she is trying to be persuasive.
Her written communication is more legible and accessible.
It makes her come through as a warm and sympathetic person who is in a position to create confident and authentic relations.
Her strength of persuasion lies in her capacity for analysis and her open spirit but she should depend more on her personality when convincing others. She is aware of this and is working on it. Her self-confidence is relatively low, but she is working on improving it. She needs regular feedback to reassure herself about her presentations and to improve.
ORGANISING: Monitoring progress
Mrs. Dx is structured in her work. She does the work ahead of time to prepare her files in order to avoid unpleasant surprises. She knows how to work on her own or with others. She sets deadlines and concrete results. She is not satisfied with superficial work and achieves depth by being detail oriented. She is very demanding on herself.
MANAGING: Directing Individuals, Coaching
Mrs. Dx is in a position to support her associates. First of all, she listens to them and tries to understand the reasons behind their behaviour and actions. She explains to them what the corporation wants and provides them with alternatives and solutions. She fosters a positive spirit and seeks collaboration and exchange in her action. She will contribute to the spirit of both the group and the organization, a quality CEA should not overlook in its present situation.
She must nonetheless learn to be more patient, particularly with coworkers who are slower than herself or who do not work at the same pace. She does not lead directly by her example but is currently learning to do so. Provided that she does not run into opposition, she can express expectations and give instructions. Yet, faced with a more dominant or elder associate, she encounters more difficulty imposing herself (she loses visual contact, speaks too much, does not wrap up quickly enough). She is not strong and dominant, but is beginning to express her opinion in a more assertive manner. She is making progress.
