After 19 years working in University research and teaching around the world, and then 6 years running my own consultancy business in the UK, in 2006 I became a full-time freelance, technical translator. I have rapidly established a reputation for on-time, accurate translation which brings me regular, repeat business from a number of agencies.
I aim to provide my clients with the on-time, accurate and high quality service that they desire.
I have 12 years research experience in Physics and 7 years research experience in Food Science and Biology. For 6 years I worked as a consultant in Food Science and refrigeration.
In the course of my career I have authored and co-authored many scientific papers, best practice guides, consumer guides, websites, court reports, patents, marketing material, press releases, scientific and engineering texts.
I have also written process modelling software using VisualBasic.net
For the last six years, I have been earning my living, almost exclusively, in technical translation covering operating manuals, technical specifications, patents, press releases, scientific papers, research proposals, course books, technical reports, catalogues and websites.
Born and raised in the UK, I worked for university Physics departments in the UK, Germany, US and Denmark. I now live and work in France.
I spent 9 years doing postdoctoral research in Low Temperature Physics and Engineering before switching to research in Biology and Food Science. I was a senior lecturer in Food Science and Technology for several years before founding my own technical consulting company for the food and refrigeration industries. In that time I undertook translation work for technical clients, research scientists and for insurance companies and solicitors.
For the last six years, translation has been my major focus. It has been an exciting time and, with an ever growing client base, I am looking forward to many more years in translation. I hope I can be of service to you.
