| Translation - English No one likes watching video filled with blurry squares and incomprehensible, multicolored dots. For that very reason, media corporations began a race for high definition. But everything has its price; in this case -- speed is sacrificed for beauty. ATI offers a new video processing technology that can help speed things up.
In recent years, personal computers have increasingly begun emphasizing multimedia content over professional or gaming applications. Previously, the viewing of video on a monitor was associated with definite disadvantages: the need to be located close to a keyboard or a mouse; compression artifacts (especially with LCD monitors); short monitor diagonals; etc. However, over the last two years high definition video and television (HD Video and HDTV) have become widely available as outgrowths of the MPEG-2 (ATSC) and MPEG-4 (VC-1 and H.264) standards.

After receiving my degree in Russian in 1972, I began working as a staff translator in a U.S. government agency. Over the next 35 years I progressed from junior to senior translator, then became an analyst and eventually a supervisor and manager of analysts. I received numerous awards, including the Civilian Superior Service Medal. I authored original papers and performed quality assurance on the written products of subordinates in a variety of technical and defense-related fields. Throughout my career I maintained my language skills at a high level by doing research in original-language materials and producing translations for my coworkers.
My years as a translator taught me the nuances of Russian technical writing. From my work as an analyst I learned how to think critically, do research, and write understandable English. My leadership experience taught me the importance of being a good team member, doing quality work, and meeting obligations.
I became a freelancer in June 2007, and since that time I have produced a large number of translations in the fields of engineering, medicine, and business. I take pride in producing high-quality translations at reasonable rates -- I will never accept an assignment unless I am confident of my ability to produce an accurate translation, and I always meet deadlines.
