I worked as a Dutch lawyer (in the Netherlands) for over 6 years and for a summer with a highly-regarded New York law firm. During that time I drafted many Dutch and English documents, varying from simple letters to complicated contracts. During my time at McDonald’s Nederland, I had near daily written communications with my superiors in the UK and US and additionally translated many corporate and legal documents on a weekly basis from Dutch to English for their review and comment and then vice-versa into the final. My (legal) experience provides an additional benefit of ensuring that the (legal) concepts are not merely literally translated but that the true legal meaning is conveyed.
