About me

I started translating during my studies in 1992/93, participating in a literary project (translating short stories written by Dutch authors into German, published at the Frankfurter Buchmesse in 1993 as volume of "die horen"). Although interested in language and all its facets, I chose not to pursue a career in translating at that moment.

After 14 years of translating 'on the side', I decided in 2007 to stop dreaming and give up my secure daily job (not quite completely, though) and start as freelance translator. I have not regretted it for a single moment.

In addition to the knowledge I acquired over the years working for multinational companies (sectors IT, Call Centers/Customer Relations, e-Commerce, Transport and Logistics), I'm interested in various subjects and I'm always keen to learn and educate myself more.

	X Why did the menu change? The updates to the menu were made to make the site easy and more intuitive for visitors. Obviously, like any change, this may take a few days to get used to. The dropdown menus have been divided into two-dimensional panels with similar items grouped together under headings. This eliminates scrolling for those with smaller screens, and also improves readability. More information on the changes... Where is the "My ProZ.com" menu? Mouseover your name at the top of the screen. Here you will find information about your account, your email settings, and more. The "My ProZ.com" menu was moved up here to simplify the main navigation, and to keep all of this type of information together. I cannot find something If you are having trouble finding something with the new menu, please submit a support request.
