Methods.
Results.
| Translation - English Background. Acute rejection is still a common complication of hepatic transplantation. The diagnosis, based on the histological examination of the graft, may be difficult to confirm in the event of combined hepatitis C virus infection. The presence of C4d in the portal capillaries could facilitate differentiation between acute rejection and relapsed hepatitis C. The deposit of C4d provides evidence of activation of humoral immunity. To attempt to confirm this hypothesis, we searched for the presence of C4d in post-transplant hepatic biopsies.
Methods. 36 biopsies from 34 patients were analyzed retrospectively. The samples had been requested for one of the following reasons: suspected rejection, relapsed C-viral infection, or systematic check-up one year after the transplant.
Results. C4d expression was common in biopsies classified as "acute rejection" (33%) and "chronic rejection" (100%). C4d was never detected in the event of recurrent hepatitis C infection without rejection.
| Translation - English Obesity is not just an excess of body weight, it is a serious disease due to the many accompanying disorders that it may induce. These are linked to gravitation (weight), to the excess mass – that of the organs does not follow that of the ensemble, and to the excess fatty tissue, a true endocrine tissue that is responsible for the production of protein derivatives. These adipocytokines, generators of a latent inflammatory state, play a role in both appetite regulation and in the permeability of the vascular epithelium or glomerular filtration rate.
The majority of owners of obese animals do not spontaneously seek veterinary advice to resolve the problem of excess weight. As a rule, they are not fully aware of the condition of their animal. It is therefore up to the practitioner to make the diagnosis, and convince the owners of the seriousness of the condition and motivate them to undertake a diet.

I qualified as a veterinary surgeon from the University of Bristol Veterinary School, UK in 1999. I then spent 2 years working full time as a vet in "mixed" practice (i.e. all species) in the UK before moving to France where I worked for 2 years as a locum veterinary surgeon before starting to translate on a freelance basis. I specialize in medical texts of all types and particularly in veterinary texts with a particular interest in the world of equitation.
I also run a 14 Ha equine recovery centre specialising in mental and physical rehabilitation for horses with behavioural problems and chronic injuries / diseases, using natural horsemanship, natural trimming, and natural boarding techniques.
To date I have translated over 5 million words, principally human medical journal articles in subjects as diverse as AIDS, drug addiction, infectious and parasitic diseases, cardiology, surgical implants, oncology and chemotherapy, analgesia and anesthesia, dentistry, hip, knee and elbow replacements, veterinary articles. I also have extensive experience with cosmetic texts.
I charge on average 0.10€ per source word and average 3,000 words per day. | This user has earned KudoZ points by helping other translators with PRO-level terms. Click point total(s) to see term translations provided.
