Hello!
My name is Yuliya Gritsyuk, I am really happy to join proZ! I am Russian but currently live and study in New York! Great city! Great mix of cultures, traditions, languages!
I graduated from the Amur State University and hold a diploma with honors (linguist and translator). My major language is English, my minor language is German. In our University I had a great practical and theoretical courses in literary translation, technical translation, poetry translation... I am in love with translation of poetry and fiction because I am a creative person (although I realise that the process of translation has limits of creativity defined by the original text , you have to translate the original text, not to compete with the auther creating the "better" version of the original text ).
As a student I was a winner of the poetry translation contest 2 years in a row.
I had my internship practice in Blagoveshensk city admenistration department of foreign affairs.
During my university years I was working part time in the translation agency Babilon. It was a great practice for me.
Currently I am a student in New York, I study fashion design and I am really passionate about it, but I would never give up being a translator.
