Member of the German IBM localization team.

Since 1999, I have been working as a translator/interpreter
(EN-DE-EN, and FR/ES>DE/EN), gradually also gaining experience in freelance project management and language training, with major projects in these areas:
* subtitling on behalf of major Hollywood studios (Paramount, Fox, Universal, Disney, Warner, Sony)
* screenplays on behalf of several movie production companies
* music (bios, music theory and history, event descriptions, marketing texts, manuals for music production devices and studio equipment, etc.)
* fine arts (including artist profiles, exhibition captions and catalogues, manuals describing diverse art production techniques such as mixed media, screen printing, etc.)
* literature (fiction/nonfiction; for a sample, s. http://geschichtenvomliebengott.com/wp/translators/gert-sass/)
* journalism (e. g. articles for National Geographic, Google Earth, etc.)
* academic articles (incl. social studies, media studies, cultural studies, articles on locative media, GPS systems, geovisualization, etc.)
* website localization (for example, see my EN-DE translation of www.ihlas.com.tr/index.aspx)
* legal texts (law, contracts, terms and conditions, policies, disclaimers, etc)
* marketing (press releases, trade fair brochures and online presentation, service and product descriptions, etc.)
* public relations, customer relations (B2B and B2C)
* IT marketing (clients include IBM, Seagate, LaCie, Axis, American Dynamics)
* market research (surveys, personal interviews, questionnaires, statistics)
* business documents (business plans, terms and conditions, correspondence, safety standards, partnership and employee contracts, agreements, policies, minutes, etc.)
* medical devices and procedures (clients include Covidien, Civco, Synovis, Anspach, Intuitive Surgical Inc., Force Triverse, Cayenne Medical, Siemens AG, Integra Surgical Devices, Lab Vision, etc.)
* software localization (clients include Motorola, Symantec, Macrovision, etc.)
* operating instructions, construction manuals and other technical documentation for many different kinds of technical appliances, ranging from home appliances via consumer electronics to complex industrial plants
* automotives (motor show newsletters, customer interviews, product and service descriptions, etc; clients include DaimlerChrysler, Nissan, General Motors, Ford, Volkswagen, etc.)
* aviation and air cargo handling (dangerous goods handling, system administration functions, security policies and functionality, development tools, database systems, operating systems, laws and general policies, etc.)
* tourism, hotel descriptions, tourist guides
* sports, fitness, recreation
* housing, architecture, urban development
and some more...

I am a quick study and always enjoy delving into new subjects.

One of my quickest jobs so far was a translation of 18,000+ words from German to English for the entertainment of passengers on luxury liner AIDA, which I completed within 2 days to the client's full satisfaction (followed by further assignments). My average daily output capacity is 3,500-4,500 words.
Generally I am available full-time.

SDL Trados 2006/2007/2009, Multiterm, SDL Passolo 2009, Idiom Workbench, STAR Transit 3.0., Across employed.
