В случая с пробиотиците това става чрез снабдяване със специално избрани бактерии, които преживяват стомашно-чревния пасаж и попадат невредими в дебелото черво. Пребиотиците, за сметка на това, са несмилаеми хранителни съставки, които стимулират растежа и активността на ограничен брой подходящи чревни бактерии. Между впрочем, като поощряващи здравето действия, сега се дискутират: засилване на имунната система, по-кратка продължителност на диариите при чревни инфекции респ. понижаване на концентрацията на нездравословните продукти от обмяната на веществата и подпомагащите рака ензими. |
