Work Experience:

Worked for five years as an Asistant for the Economics and Infrastructure Dept. at the Inter-American Development Bank (1970-1975). While living in Washington, D.C. obtained a Certificate of Proficiency in Translation (English - Spanish) from Georgetown University. Later worked at the U.S. Embassy in Uruguay for the Agency for International Development. Since 1977 was selected as the Executive Assistent to the General Manager at Fleischmann Uruguaya S.A. (Montevideo, Uruguay), subsidiariy of Nabisco Brands International, company that later merged into Kraft Foods International pertaining to the ALTRIA group (includes the Philip Morris Companies). Along my whole career worked as a translator in the fields of Yeast and Biscuits Manufacturing, Business, Country Economy, Management, Human Resources, Marketing, Patents & Trademarks, etc.

Administration: Being a senior Assistant to the General Manager of a multinational Corporation worked in translation of administration documents from English to Spanish and Spanish to English.

Economy: Consistently prepared weekly Political and Economic Country reports extracting data from different journals, press media and Consultant reports.

General/Conversation/Greetings/Letters: Permanently translated business letters and reports into English or Spanish, and served as an interpreter in telephone conversations or personal encounters with Headquarters Executives.

Human Resources: Frequently had to prepare reports on legal aspects of labor legislation or Company policy to Headquarters from Spanish, or translate Headquarters HHRR policies to be implemented at subsidiary from English sourced documents..

Travel & Tourism: Had a close relation with local Travel Agents to prepare itineraries for High Rank Executives that seldom spoke fluent Spanish.

Finance (general). Was permanent in charge of translating policy and procedure manuals from Headquarters for use by the Accounting and Financial Company Officers

Business: Permanently participated in acquisitions or due diligence reports and purchase agreement contracts that had to be translated during the course of the negotiations.

Medicine: Health: Consistently worked with insurance claims for Company executives where I had to translate Medical reports.

Cooking/Culinary: Was in charge of translating Recipe Booklets to include in food products packaging or hand-outs at Supermarkets or Grocery Stores or for door to door delivery, as an advertising policy.

Industrial: Yeast, Biscuits, Chocolates Manufacturing: Working for a permanently growing industrial corporation had to give support Plant Executives in the English translation of documents to send to Headquarters or the Spanish translation of new equipment manuals to be installed, or else recommendations from other foreign plants in the use of special equipment.

Marketing, Trade Marketing: Consistently worked in the translation of Marketing Plan or other Marketing and Trade Marketing papers.

Nutrition: Gave support to Quality Assurance/Quality Control Laboratory in the translation of nutrition papers related to yeast, biscuits, and chocolate manufacturing.

Quality Assurance: During the process of Quality Certification under ISO 9000 International Standards worked in the translation of specific documents related to this subject.

As a Trademark coordinator between the Company and the Patent & Trademarks Agents consistently translated and wrote reports concerning the Trademarks owned by the Corporation.

Advertising/Public Relations: Intervened in translation of several advertising documents for Advertising Agencies, to report Campaign strategies for their clients.
