5 years (+) experience working as a Trilingual PA/Administrative and Research Assistant,Translator and Proof-reader for international organisation in London (UK) in the area of population & development, reproductive health & family planning, whilst undertaking substantial part-time freelance translation work for a humanitarian relief organisation and an ethical investment research organisation.
Excellent experience translating research questionnaires and guidance notes on socially, ethically and environmentally responsible behaviour of companies, covering a range of issues, e.g. environmentally-friendly products,GM-food, animal testing, human rights and employment standards of companies with operations in developing countries(child labour, forced labour, etc.) and compliance with ILO Conventions , respect for the rights of indigenous communities, involvement in arms trade, fair trade, etc.
Also have excellent experience in translating/abstracting Social/Environmental Reports, project reports, surveys and research reports from German companies into English (for information purposes);
I have also translated two series of ethical company profiles:
- on German food manufacturers, and
- German pharmaceutical cosmetics & detergents companies.
