Solid education:

I have a university degree in translation corresponding to MA, for Spanish and French, by Universität des Saarlandes (Applied Linguistics and Interpreting/Translation), Germany.
My subject of specialty: technical engineering (mechanical and electrical)

The Spanish Ministery for Education officially recognized my title as „Licenciada en Traducción e Interpretación“.


Hands-on experience in industry:

I worked during 8 years at the central purchasing department of an internationally operating German company group manufacturing steel, tubes and components/systems for the automotive industry. And again, at the same company, 1 year at the Plant maintenance department.

Which lead to my thorough knowledge of

-> automotive industry, purchasing commodities and procedures, (contracting, controlling, quality assurance, …), project engineering, industrial engineering, manufacturing of steel, steel tubes, press parts and components, production systems and processes, repair and maintenance, total quality management, company organization and structures


Passion for patents:

During 1 month of practical work at the Patents department of a wellknown French manufacturer of electrical devices, I developed my passion for the translation of patents.


Altogether:

I use Computer-Aided Translation tools (Trados) to assure terminology consistency.
