About me
Hi. I am Akiko, an English to Japanese translator, based in Christchurch, New Zealand. I can produce the first class translation with immaculate attention to details, transforming English into the most natural and readable Japanese without losing the true meaning of the original text.

I have a deep and comprehensive understanding of English, which was mainly developed during my academic years in UK, including three years at the London School of Economics (the University of London). There, I read piles and piles of English books and tackled constant assignments, which was challenging and rewarding at the same time. So far, I have spent 17 years in total in English-speaking countries.

I also have superb writing skills, the training of which started at the early age of 8, including writing a journal, and summarising a newspaper column every single day for some time. After finishing study in the UK and returning to Tokyo, I started to work as a freelance journalist, writing for various major magazines in Japan. I have covered numerous assignments in North and South America, Asia, Oceania, Middle East and Africa, conducting interviews in English and writing articles in Japanese.

Please look at my CV for more professional details and I look forward to working with you in the near future!
