The red circles with X on them taunt me to start scribbling, so here goes... a perpetual work in progress, probably never to leave the editing stage. Be kind in your judgment.
I became a translator long before I enrolled in my studies of the English language, always picking up expressions, useful turns of phrase, curious local words and using my gift wherever and whenever possible to assist people in communication. Although it took me a while to complete my formal education, I used every opportunity along the way to improve my understanding of the word trade. I take special pride in taking an intelligence test (probably one measuring the different kinds of intelligence) which described me as a "word warrior".
There is no better vocation for me; no other profession cast or casts its allures & charms deeper than this one, fuzzy and ambiguous though it may be at times; though on occasion it may rack my brain for that perfect word that just isn't there - I never complain.
Privately, I am a loyal husband and a proud father of one (for now :) ) daughter; a somewhat serious, grave type, but charming nevertheless (if one can be permitted to flatter oneself so blatantly).
This is probably all the unnecessary info I could have given at one go; however, all of it is about me, so I am on spot. |
